Scotland Football and Rugby World Cup

Yesterday was a proud day for Scottish football, as they beat Ukraine convincingly 3-1 after going up 2-0 within the first ten minutes. Surprisingly they are still in first place for their group in Euro 2008 (like the World Cup but only for European teams) in a group that includes France and Italy.

The Rugby World Cup is also going on right now, and last night France lost to England in the first semifinal match. Tonight Argentina takes on South Africa. I was rooting for France, but now I'm going for Argentina as the underdogs in the tournament.

Thanks for the weekly post..two in a row! Seriously, we do enjoy them. Keep it up!

So I get the impression that the Scotland/England relationship is like the Stanford/USC trelationship. My favorite team is Stanford and whoever is playing USC. As an adopted Scot, do you feel the same about the english teams, i.e. your favorite team is whoever os playing England? Have you started spelling england in all lower case letters yet?

Yeah theat's pretty much the general consensus around here if you are Scottish.
